Daniel Lebedeff bounced back from a shaky second period and shut out the Chill in the game’s final frame, making 31 total saves on 35 shots in the victory. Only 40 seconds later, John Pesek scored the game-winner on a one-timer for his first goal as a Jet, and Carter Ekberg sealed it with an empty-netter. Jakov Novak scored the game-tying goal, picking up a loose puck following a blocked shot and sniping his sixth of the season. With less than two minutes to go, the Jets scored three straight and stole the game. Much of the third period was extremely tight defensive play from both teams, with very few shots getting through to either goaltender for the first 15 minutes. The Jets got the last shot in of the wild period, with Kip Hoffmann scoring on a breakaway with eight seconds left in the frame. On another power play opportunity, the Chill went back up by two as Nick Bowman again doubled the Chill’s lead. Jets dman Alec Semandel cut the deficit to 3-2, walking in from the high slot and ripping a shot off the post and in. Just 47 seconds later the Chill struck again on the power play on a shot from Nick Bowman. Coulee Region’s Marshal Plunkett found the back of the net on a wrister from the point on the power play to make it 2-1. The game took a wild turn midway through the second period. Later in the period, the Chill’s Jackson Decker was credited with a goal that took a strange bounce off goaltender Daniel Lebedeff and trickled in to tie the game. The Jets converted an early power play opportunity when defenseman Grant Anderson wired a shot bar-down for his first goal as a Jet. Janesville 6 Coulee Region 4 - The Janesville Jets completed another comeback Sunday afternoon, surviving a crazy second period and overtaking the Coulee Region Chill in the game’s final two minutes to steal the win and finish the series sweep of their in-state rivals. ![]() Brandon Perrone was solid in net in the Titans win, making 39 saves, while Stoever made 34 saves in the loss. In overtime, the Titans would emerge victorious, as Ryan Wheeler weaved his way around the Knights backcheck to put home the game-winning goal. In the third, Titans forward Nick Boyagian found a puck from Tyler Antonucci and Hunter Alden and ripped a long back-handed shot past Stoever to tie the game at 2-2. In the second period the Knights would fire home the first power play tally of the game at 9:14, when Mike Gelatt found the twine a second time off Curtis Carlson’s shot, set up by Anthony Firriolo. In the final second of the period, when Matthew Cameron took a centering feed from Nick Yazguirre and Wade Novak and flipped it past Knights netminder Christian Stoever. ![]() The Titans would turn the tide midway through the period, and begin to building offensive pressure. The goal kicked off a strong afternoon for Gelatt, a former Titan, and native of Middletown, New Jersey. ![]() The Knights would score first off Mike Gelatt’s fourth goal of the season during 4-on-4 play.
