Students will be assessed on the first day of class.įor children who have had lessons but are new to our program: School-age students (1st grade through age 12) will begin in School Age Level 1 register for School Age Levels 1-4. ![]() Preschool students (age 3 through kindergarten) will begin in Preschool Level 1 register for Preschool Levels 1-3. Please do not leave the center during your child’s lesson. Registering for Learn to Swim classesĪ parent, guardian, or caregiver (at least 15 years old) must visually supervise children under 10 years old. We believe in the value of swimming as a lifelong skill and as a healthy recreational activity, and are committed to the importance of water safety and training, for our staff as well as our community. THPRD provides a fun and creative atmosphere to help children develop swimming skills. All classes are taught by trained water safety instructors utlitizing the same water safety guidelines taught by the American Red Cross. The primary goal of THPRD's Learn To Swim program is to teach all participants to swim to the best of their ability in a safe, fun and friendly environment. Registration for Summer classes begins Saturday, April 15 at 8am. Open Pools: Aloha Swim Center, Beaverton Swim Center, Harman Swim Center, the Conestoga Recreation Aquatic Center, the Sunset Swim Center and the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center. Teaching starts with beginning diving skills and will progress at the rate of the student's ability.Learning to swim is a skill for life.
